9 Carmelite Street

Our works at the Grade II listed No.9 Carmelite Street are now complete thanks to our site team and trusted supply chain, all of whom have done a fantastic job.

Engaged as Specialist Principal Contractor, Restore London package works included samples, complicated scaffold erection, masonry & brickwork cleaning & restoration, new roof, new secondary glazing, fire escapes, flooring and a complex, state-of-the-art M&E scheme. Internally, full decorations were undertaken as well as stripping back of the existing heritage timber to remove layers of varnishes and coverings previously applied, revealing their original beauty. Natural stone staircases were also bought back to life and the terrazzo flooring restored & revived.

Providing a new, contemporary lease of life for the building & much improved energy efficiencies, our works have been sympathetically completed in perfect harmony with the restoration of the stunning traditional facade.

“Restore London brought a level of quality craftsmanship and skill that is rare in today’s construction market. They worked collaboratively, bringing their wealth of knowledge to every detail. Their contribution to the National Portrait Gallery can be seen wherever you look in the project. ”
