Cane Hill

This development put the old Cane Hill hospital site to productive use by providing new homes and social spaces. Restore London were employed directly by Haxted to come up with cost effective long term remedial strategies to combat the years of neglect suffered by the heritage elements of the development. By completion, new life had been breathed into the previously abandoned buildings. The Chapel benefited from façade cleaning, a restored roof, new leadwork, new RWG’s, repaired stained glass windows and carpentry and major remedial works to the brick & stonework.

Similar substantial restoration work was carried out to the administration block and the resplendent water tower including internal cleaning, restoration & modification. We are proud to have contributed to safeguarding the future of this rich slice of history, which at one stage was destined to be bulldozed.
