Dixon House

This seven-storey Grade II listed office building underwent partial demolition and the addition of three new floors including the building of Dormer windows and entablatures formed of both new and salvaged Portland Stone.

Having initially been selected to carry out exemplar samples of non-intrusive, effective cleaning methods to the external façades, the Restore team were awarded further works including indenting repairs, facade restoration to the existing buildings, granite replacement and substantial brickwork to the rear.

Facade cleaning works included our recommendation of a combination of nebulous water sprays and a superheated washing system, which produced excellent results. A fully detailed methodology was produced which specifically included a water run-off control and collection strategy. Developed by the Restore London’s Site team, this aspect was particularly successful and ensured that pedestrians could use the covered walkways at pavement level unaffected by the cleaning works progressing above them.

“It was a pleasure working with the Restore London team. They showed good team spirit coupled by a highly pro-active approach to problem solving & were able to resource the project during unforeseen circumstances, such as the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
